if it's spread by fruit bats, then are people eating the bats? fruit bats arent going to be feeding on people...
Fruit bat chews on some fruit in a tree. Fruit picker handles fruit, before realising its no good. Tosses it, but has got some juice on their hands now. Rubs their eyes or nose or licks their fingers, or maybe has a cut on their hands?
Guano is also a potential infection source
