Lemmy, sure, but probably not the fediverse I'd guess, since the most popular fedi platform is mastodon, meant to recreate Twitter rather than Reddit

Yeah, Lemmy's popularity is due to the enshittification of Reddit. But, Mastodon is bigger and its popularity is entirely due to Elon Musk setting fire to $40b.

That whole debacle is so satisfying. From the beginning, he has bungled everything about it. I get so much schadenfreude watching the patron saint of "I am very smart" bleeding money.

I also like how it's affecting all the other businesses: Tesla, Space X, etc. People who looked up to him were proud to own Teslas, now people are ashamed, and looking more critically. Any factions in the government who were happy to rely on Space X to resupply the ISS are now probably having to defend their assessments. I just hope that it spreads to other "genius" billionaires like Ellison and Bezos and their businesses.
