I mean, that's a courtesy, but if it falls under fair use, get over it. VTH videos are transformative, as he provides additional context, corrects inaccuracies, and more.
Would the same argument work for movies, can I upload the entire Oppenheimer to youtube if I sometimes add an edit explaining some scenes or adding context, for example? Is that also transformative?
Cuz I don't mind react videos on their own, but the common issue is they basically re-upload the entire original video and people who watch that don't have to give views to the original. IMO react videos shouldn't contain more than 50% of the original.
I can see the argument about percentage. I'm really not sure. I think with this particular case, grey has millions of subscribers and I don't think VTH does. He's not stealing views from grey honestly.
It's tricky to define transformative for sure. At the end of the day, I think grey could have handled it better. He threw a hissy fit because he had received a strike before and decided to fuck over other, smaller creators out of spite.
