Man, when I was cleaning up off meth I decided to try out Narcotics Anonymous. Most depressing shit I've sat through. I felt like the shit I'd gone through paled in comparison to what other people were struggling with. I didn't stick with it, couldn't force myself to relinquish agency to god, the strength I needed to change and heal came from within not some sky ghost. The thing I took away though? Validation of my pain, it's subjective, just because someone goes through worse doesn't mean how you feel and what you've suffered isn't valid...isn't real...isn't bad enough. And fuck anyone who implies that's the case. They're saying that, I can almost guarantee, because they feel that their pain isn't valid.

Love you buddy, you got this.

Yeah my dude, 14yrs clean, all on my own. Got a beautiful wife, and a beautiful house, and I don't ask how I got here. I still struggle, but knowing that how I feel is just as valid as how everyone else feels. And that even though maybe it wasn't as fucked as what someone else went through doesn't mean it wasn't still trauma. I'm alright. And buddy, you will be too. I believe in you, you got this.
