  • Brush: Captain's Choice Ocean 24mm Tuxedo

  • Razor: Dovo Bismarck 6/8" Full Hollow Round Point (Straight Shave 360)

  • Lather: Captain's Choice - Bay Rum - Soap

  • Post Shave: Captain's Choice - Cat O' Nine Tails - Aftershave

  • Post Shave: Thayers - Cucumber - Toner

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

I haven't used Bay Rum in quite a while and am a fan of this scent. I can see getting a couple of other takes on this fragrance. Great shave today.

I like the lighting in that picture! It's a lot harder to get right with straights than with safety razors, for some reason 😅

Bismarck++;

Thank you!

It’s a lot harder to get right with straights than with safety razors,

Yes. Definitely. The photo is about chiaroscuro; a fancy term I learned in art school which I attended after my university years in engineering. Aside from learning fancy terms, I learned how to take abuse from (and appreciate the talent of) real artists.

Funny how oxymorons in a foreign language sound fancy 😅

"this picture is a good example for brightdark" sounds more... pedestrian 😅

My wife is an artist. This is the kind of comment that gets me "The Look". "The Look" speaks volumes but it communicates disdain and exasperation. I get this a lot :)
