I'm coping with the shadow of doom by not breeding. To be fair, my initial reason was simply that I didn't want to mess up any kids the way I'd been messed up, so I chose sterilization. I've never regretted it and repeatedly found great comfort in my refusal to subject offspring to this world (and in sparing this poor overcrowded world to the burden of more people).
Underrated solution. I think the biggest threat to humans is that we simply made too many of ourself.
Not having kids is the best thing you can do to help the climate.
You could drive a Dodge ram pickup, eat meat everyday, and use plastic straws, and you'll probably contribute less harm to the environment than the greenest person out there if they have a kid.
Living the DINK life is best life.
