I recently started playing Dyson sphere program on my PC again and I get that lovely feeling of being drawn into the game for hours. But since it's a very mouse-centric game, I don't want to play it on a steam deck. And because I sit at a desk all day for work, I'd rather lay down on the couch and use my deck instead.

Are there any games like DSP that work well with a controller? I find that if I use the trackpad too much, my right wrist starts to hurt.

I've been waiting for Satisfactory to add controller support. The game runs fine and the number of buttons it uses is fairly limited; but alas, no proper support yet.

I haven't tried Minecraft with one of the industrial/ultimate packs yet; but that typically requires java edition, which needs an extra mod for controller support.

You can just use steaminput, it's much better than any of the control mods in my opinion.

I play vanilla java MC 1.20.1 on Steam Deck, no big problems with controller support (at least with prism launcher) Just the default keybinds are a bit shit, and there is no prev/next-item-key so you have to awkwardly scroll trough with the touchpads which is a bit meh during combat.

But I guess with a bit practice it's totally playable (I recommend peaceful to get used to the settings, tho)
