Similar can happen on Reddit, but on Reddit you can leave certain subreddits, or get banned in them and life moves on. However, Facebook is different breed. Facebook is like dedicated social network for those who are not accepted (and/or feeling unwelcome) by others in real life, so in Facebook you can find conspiracy theorists with the same ideas, boomers with the same ideas and racists with the same ideas.

So happy that I left facebook ~5 years ago.

Yeah. Facebook broke me in 2020. It was mostly antivaxxers, bigots, fascists, and conspiracy morons in every comment thread at that point. I couldn't continue on that platform. The pieces of shit running that company give zero fucks that they helped destroy civilization and they should be in prison for it, no exaggeration.
