The problem isn’t that they’re smokers, it’s that they’re inconsiderate assholes that happen to smoke. I was a smoker for 30+ years and would NEVER have done any of that. Ever. To anyone.

Granted, I’ve quit for quite some time… still. Your issue is that your friends are assholes. Not smokers.

Current smoker here. I couldn't imagine lighting up in someone's car much less their house. I don't even smoke in my own car if a non smoker is in it.

Back when i was a smoker i wouldnt even smoke in my car only outside, ive always hated the smell of cars (and houses) that were smoked in. Plus the yellowing from the smoke is fucking disgusting 😅

Preach! I'm glad I quit, but assholes are assholes, whether they smoke or not

Honestly that's nice of you. Every smoker I know personally unfortunately is hopelessly addicted to the point they forgo any semblance of manners.

That's very true. Very sad, though it still doesn't excuse bad behavior. I get it, I do. I had that monkey on my back for decades. But that was my choice, not other people's, which meant it was my obligation to be a good smoker and be respectful of public spaces in particular, and shared spaces in general.

Addiction is brutal for sure, even "just" nicotine.

About that last point... Even something basic as sugar is addictive as hell. We just don't notice because it's in everything we eat.

I decided to cut out sugar from my drinks and found myself genuinely addicted to milk. I wondered why that was and decided to check what milk contains. Turns out milk contains trace amounts of natural sugars!
