I think most all of us here on Lemmy are people with technical background. Most of my professional contacts remained using Reddit, Twitter and even excited when Threads launched.

I'm a mom that works part time in accounts. Definitely not IT technical.

Here because Apollo and RIF have gone and I saw reddit posts directing me here. Might leave because 50% of the posts here are "reddit is shit" and I'm just not that interested in that circle jerk.

Try sorting by new, it might have been a little shitty on Reddit due to the sheer volume of posts, but here it's actually nice and IMO much better than sorting by hot.

I think that's a phase and it will pass. The sorrow is fresh. I'd recommend find yourself some interesting communities and browse the subscribed tab instead of all.

I think that's just because that's still a hot topic for many of us here. It'll die down and then hopefully, we'll form our own communities and do our own thing here at some point, not just lament old reddit. At least that's why I'm still here and waiting :D
