Neither Autumn Ash 🍂 nor Valley of Ashes are favourites of my wife's when I let her sniff them. Too smokey, too much diesel, you get the idea. But I consistently get compliments from her when I wear them unannounced. Today even while wearing both of them together.
The #Talcening continues. Talc's nice, who knew? (@gcgallant@sub.wetshaving.social. @gcgallant@sub.wetshaving.social knew.)
This Rubberset was my trusty companion for two Austere Augusts and has the strongest backbone of all my brushes (low-ish loft, but most of all, super tight ferrule). It's really nice to use, but it never fully lost it's boar funk. C'est la vie.
Sneaky!
My wife hated the sample of Autumn Ash I had (I didn't like it much, either). She said it reminded her of... we'll just call it "something unfavorable" to prevent ruining the scent for anybody reading.
😇
It's just the talc :) My wife doesn't like Autumn Ash. I suggest that its scent is a wonderful mix of autumn leaves (which she likes) mixed with with the rich scent of a premium cigar (which I like, but she, decidedly does not). I think this works! She doesn't.
Now you're talcing!
I'm detecting a theme in today's comments😅
For many controversial scents, (eg, gearhead, stag, VoA, Boltzmann, frankly my pear) I get why they are controversial, for others, like The Stank® or Autumn Ash, I'm just not seeing it. They are great!
