You get 30 pills every 30 days no more no less . You need to renew in time, you then have to wait for your doc to approve the refill then for your pharmacy to get them and fill the prescription. So until all that happens I will have to wait. You can’t refill early you need to do it right at the end.
What's that?
Also, your doctor doesn't do like a 3-month supply (3 x 1 month script fills on same script)?
Typo. 30 pills. And no. You get 30 pills to use within 30 days no more no less because it’s a controlled substance, stupid useless war on drugs (which really is just an excuse to be legally racist). So if you order too late and you have no other choice than to lapse a few days at some point. You can never catch up with a missed day and you can’t create a stock or reserve.
Wow, that sounds like a nightmare. So you have to literally see a doctor face-to-face to get a new monthly script and time that perfectly 12 times a year?
I have to call the nurse and have them renew my prescription. It can’t be automated. It has to be within a specific window of days. Then the pharmacy has to have it in stock (and a lot of drugs are out of stock). I’ll spare you the details about getting your ADHD drug accepted by your health insurance in the first place. They denied the drug my doc prescribed and told me to try another one first, it didn’t work then and only then they reluctantly accepted the original one.
Wow. Its insane how patients are treated like guinea pigs in a neverending race to the bottom vis-a-vis drug policy. That is absolutely insane and completely inappropriate to the target audience (expecting ADHD people to stay on top of all those moving pieces just to get their f-in prescription that you take forever.
I wonder if you could make a deal with your doc to double/triple the dosage but he'll only refill it every 2 months or...God-forbid -> 3 months like is normal everywhere else
That’s illegal is “drug free freedom land”
I feel so sorry for you bud. Best of luck. I hate having to call the Pharmacy every month to tell them I want my meds bc they're controlled. Seriously. Just assume I want them. 🥸
I don't think anyone is ever gonna get around that part (calling pharm to confirm what you want). Its never gonna be that easy and magically appear for you (unless you do mail order or something) but it sounds like it particularly tricky where OP is.
This reads strangely to me. I'm on a controlled substance, but I can still fill my rx a few days in advance of running out. And I've been on others before with the same deal. Are you sure you have to wait until the day you run out?
not OP, but my doc sends the 90-day scrip but the pharmacy will only fill 30 at a time. It's asinine.
Ya same. Don't really have so much of an issue with that, the OP's situation is absurd for anyone to have to deal with chronically. The OP would be much better off if they had that option.
