I'm pretty sure he doesn't give a fuck about the underlying businesses, he only cares about clout chasing (cosplaying as dollar store Tony Stark) and making money, and his choice in industries reflects that: self driving cars and getting off world.

I don't believe for one second that he actually believes in what he does, outside of taking over SpaceX to try to make a new ~~South African Emerald mine~~ colony on Mars.
