It's a meta joke about how deathly serious 60 Minutes takes itself.

So even if a giant silverback was ripping the set apart, Lesley Stahl would just narrow her eyes and let it speak its piece for the sake of journalism.

To me it says 60 Minutes asks super obvious questions. Or questions that you already know the answer to.

IMHO they do and it's tiring to watch. Their questionsá are basically affirmations.
