Anyone feel up to explaining what matrix is and is for? I've seen the name in passing but don't have any clue about it

last time i checked, matrix didn't have any screensharing features. Is it still true?

Element does, I think matrix as a protocol also does (with the VoIP stuff) but at the very least element does.

Interesting to see it as a alternative to discord, i know matrix only as an encrypted messenger.
