Element does, I think matrix as a protocol also does (with the VoIP stuff) but at the very least element does.

When I made my account I joined the main instance but if I had to choose now I'd probably prefer tchncs.de because they offer Telegram, WhatsApp & Signal Bridges for free (but I don't really know much about other instances tbh)
their privacy policy is a lil bit icky in my opinion what did you think?

I'm kinda conflicted with the second part since I sometimes love to go through old messages. On the other hand, from a privacy view it would be nice, if they weren't stored that long. Please correct me if I am wrong or misunderstanding something but the owners cannot read the messages as long as they've been sent encrypted (except if they had the decryption key).
Idk if storing my last time of activity is that big of a thing but it would be cooler if they didn't store it.

What matrix homeservers would people recommend?
I personally don't really like Matrix, I only joined it out of necessity and the whole keys things is uncomfortable and unintuitive.
none of our rooms are encrypted
oh that's good, maybe I'll give it a shot then. Not sure if I can join though since my app is malfunctioning and the key export isn't working (keys are needed for the blahaj mod chats I'm in since I mod egg_irl and a few other coms here)
