Instagram never directly told users it was limiting political content by default.

If you’re a normal functioning human being then seeing less political news on social media is a good thing.

And you’re free to change it. It’s simply a default. What’s your problem?

Don’t like that it’s a default? Don’t use threads. Pretty simple decision making well adjusted humans are capable of doing.

The issue is not with Threads. The issue is with existing service Instagram, adding new settings and setting a default to exclude previously existing content. It's equivalent to Lemmy disabling all feed and limiting you to local, while saying you are free to change in the settings.
