There is a lemmy user who does the same damn thing for "moe" pics. I swear to God they made a new community for every single pic. I was trying to avoid blocking the user but it clogsv the "all" section really bad.
You can block the ani.social instance if anime art everywhere is not your cup of tea!
Yeah, it seems like it was basically one person. Won't name them here -- they aren't really doing anything wrong, and if it's a problem for you it's not like it's hard to figure out who.
I actually assumed they were a bot, but they're out there participating in normal conversations on communities I enjoy. Plus I don't want to just block the entirety of ani.social, since I do actually watch anime and want to talk about it sometimes.
Ultimately I went with filtering out all "moe" communities, but I wish I could create a more specific rule.
IIRC it's always on the same community ("moe" in the name?), so blocking that community should be enough
Nope, there are (were?) a gazillion different "moe" communities. I would block each community as I saw them, but it was becoming a little absurd. Ultimately I blocked every community with "moe" in the name, since I didn't want to block non-art posts from that user. It's a bit of a clunky solution though.
Just checked their account and they're still going lol. Won't name them here though. It's not like you'd have trouble figuring out who they were if it's a problem.
Yes and those community's all stem from the same instance. Having these people who post a lot at the same time isn't uncommon in the anime art community, and to be honest I very much appreciate thier work. It takes some dedication to do this pretty much daily. You also have the option to block the user in specific
I've blocked so many moe communities lol
I believe you can block communities by name? Like all communities with "moe" in the name. It's been long enough that I don't remember how I did it though. Didn't want to directly block the bloke who was posting them, since they do actively post in communities I like.
