Yea, lemmy is quite mean. I simply unsubscribed to the world news and politics communities. Now, my feed is just filled with cute posts like urs'. Whenever I want to see the talked about news story of the day, I just head on to "All" under "Active".

OH ALSO! Try to block the tankie communities/servers. They're the worst in this regard.
