Fun fact: the reason mummified Egyptian remains are so rare is because eating mummy legit used to be a practice in traditional medicine.

Didn't they also used to make paint out of them? 'Mummy Brown' was a popular thing or smthn.

Yes! I believe it was actually called Mummy Brown! Watched a video about it on YouTube I think within the last year, I think the Smithsonian or someone still has an archived sample of the pigment.
