Is there a way to change the default listing from 'local' to 'subscribed'? (lemmy.ml)

I couldn't find an option and it is really bothersome having to change it every time I open the app

in 0.0.35 it's broken

Unfortunately that setting seems to be broken in Jerboa, at least for me. I have it set to Subscribed but the app still opens in local view every time. Website works correctly, though.
