Yeah that mod went full mask off. Sadly there were no repercussions. All men are created equal, but on Reddit, some are created more equal than others.

Which part of what they said was untrue? Or is it just an issue of the words they used?

[-] tobor@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 year ago

misandry and feminism are two totally different things

I would agree that nothing they said in that statement would lead me to believe they're a feminist.

"crazy misandrist power tripping bitch" would've definitely been more accurate but I suspect the reaction then would've been to it being a gendered insult because "bitch."

Yeah, I can call myself a billionaire but that still doesn't make it true. By definition, a feminist is "an advocate of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes". I don't see any of that from the mod.

People like that mod just hurt us all in the end. I would personally call someone like that a bigot or something similar instead of (essentially) an equal rights activist. One descriptor is strictly about being hateful and closed-minded. The other descriptor is about wanting equality. They are not even on the same playing field, imo.

Instead of it just being an insult to that one person, it becomes an insult to everyone who is a legitimate feminist. I want equality for everyone, and I sure as hell don't talk or act like that mod does. I would want nothing to do with anyone who would assume that I would act like that. Comments like that make me wonder: Why are equal rights bad to you?

Let's not continue to attach terrible stereotypes to what should be considered a good thing, please. These things are part of why there is still so much anger.
