Growth at all costs is bad. Slow, steady growth is natural and encouraged. The economy grows, but so does a forest. Something as broad as "growth" should not be characterized in a singular way like you're doing, especially when you seem to consider natural growth to be "unbound" and "needless", when it is not.
You should rest, but you should not stagnate.
