What if you only needed one laptop in your lifetime and could just update parts? This company, Framework, is making that happen. @framework

Lemmy is the fediverse equivalent of reddit ๐Ÿ˜…

For folks viewing your post on lemmy it looks like you posted an ad for framework to the framework "subreddit", called a community here. But if you look at the account that posted, they'll see your account is on a mastodon server.

If you edit your post and look at the full address of framework you @ed you'll see you @ed the lemmy community, and not a mastodon account dedicated to framework

@Cris_Color Thanks for the description of what took place. Is this now a non-issue, or is this still something generating consternation somewhere? Yes, I copied what I understood to be a handle taken from a quick search of Framework, but I didn't realize how prone a Mastodon post can be to unintended messaging. I may have inadvertently become a pariah among the Lemmists for my message crafting faux pas. I hope it isn't an ongoing frustration for people over there. No bad intentions from me! โœŒ๏ธ

I'm just glad you have a character limit lol.

Nah accidents happen, but some jokes might get made.

Lol. Nah, you're all good. Just like with reddit the Post's time in the spotlight passes and no one sees it anymore unless they go looking for it, and the comments now explain it was a misunderstanding. Lemmy isn't even very big so it's not like an enormous number of people were confused/irritated anyway

Hope you have a good one! :)
