Man I was so hoping he might get to drive for Mercedes for one season until Antonelli is ready.

Yea, I didn't expect that Mercedes would sign Antonelli straight away with Sainz being at merc for a year, but now its more and more likely to be kimi.. Still, maybe botASS could make a return there until kimi is ready.

Yeah I think Bottas would probably be the best option. We already know it would be only a one, maybe two year contract so getting someone who already knows the team is the easiest route.

With longevity a key factor in Bottas’ contract negotiations, he said he’d be open to having a chat with Mercedes if a longer-team deal was on the table.

“Only if it was a lot more than a one-year contract,” he said, when asked outright if a return to Mercedes was something he’d be interested in.

“If it was a one-year deal, then it wouldn’t make sense for me. But, for long-term, of course there could be a discussion.”
