Two (honest) questions:

  1. Do mushrooms really belong in the vegetables section? I might be mistaken but due to their similarity to meat, I had them under the "protein" section.

  2. The supplement part needs to be non-vegan (I'm assuming this because the warning does not seem to apply to specific foods)? If not, how to do this?

  1. That is fair as mushrooms are fungi-based.

  2. You do not need to eat meat for b12 or for Omega 3 as you can find them synthesized in plant-based supplements or fortified foods.

mushrooms are approx 95% water and are not very useful as a protein source. They just taste good

95% water, that explains why there are so juicy.

Most mushrooms commonly farmed don't have significant protein content but are rich in vitamins and minerals. Sounds closer to veggies than legumes.
