They patented that like 15 years ago. If they were going to do it they would do it.
The microtransaction concept was made decades before Bethesda's horse armor which had gamers everywhere in a rage. Now look at us, I'm on Lemmy because reddit has Microtransactions.

It took 6 years to get fed up enough to make something better happen. That's how tolerant we are. Right now we're not going to tolerate this, but a thousand cuts from now, we might and Sony is already prepared.
You're the first person I've heard claim this website is based on microtransactions on Reddit.
Fifteen years ago means the patent will expire soon, so the idea will be public domain for others to implement.
