I've never heard of being able to order food without paying for it
Where I live you can order food and pay the delivery person with cash at your door. So the restaurant will prepare the food and send it out without taking any payment.
what if you just punch the guy in the face and take it and then your friend comes up and craps in his mouth

You've never ordered for local pickup? Just order over the phone or select "pay in store" online.
i tried once and they told me to call uber eats or whatever
How would uber eats provide local pickup? Are you going to meet the uber driver at the restaurant? That sounds... overly complicated...
