Not if I'm going someplace unfamiliar, but if I'm just using it for traffic it's usually muted.
I feel like the voice prompts are especially unhelpful if I am unfamiliar with the roads. Looking at the map shows me the next one or two turns at a glance and also shows me which lanes I need to take.
