Ah, whataboutism, a classic way to avoid confronting your own privilege.

All I am trying to say is that it is definitely appealing that I can afford a roof over my head there lol. You have got to be shitting me if you think on the street in Canada is better

You sound like someone who has all their human needs covered and ran out of things to complain about

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It may very well be better if you're queer, yes. You're protected by a human rights charter for being queer in Canada. In Idaho... well, read the article.

If you live on the street you are going to die, full stop

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's simply not true. There are people who live on the street for years.

Here you will likely freeze to death

Would live in a red state if push come to shove, just hole up in your house and work from home, live a solitary life

Idaho also has incredible nature you can escape to

Seriously if anyone in Idaho here wants to come try living in BC I'll trade because it's getting really hard to survive here

Sorry, you think it's toasty warm in Idaho?

It snows in the summer in Idaho.

No I think I could afford a house in Idaho
