The visual cuisine for this Monday night is the season finale of The Boys season 4 followed by the early "season 0" of Battlebots due to popular demand.
The Boys is a show based off of a comic that satirized mainstream superhero comics, it has frequent shock/gross-out humor with bombastic, graphic violence. The first few minutes of the first episode of season 1 will give you a general idea of what the show is about. It's essentially superheroes but with capitalism coupled with contemporary political satire.
Battlebots is a show about people making robots that fight in an arena, it is based off the season 2 My Life as a Teenage Robot episode "Robot Riot."

wont be around to catch these but i just watched the last episode of the boys and god i loved that ending.
spoiler
im an absolute sucker for bad things happening in a montage to licensed music at the lowest point. mmm yes give me that perfect act two endingWhile I thought season 3 was better than season 4 of the boys I agree that the ending of S4 was really good.
Yeah a lot of the characters in season 4 felt like they had nothing to do compared to season 3.
spoiler
Annie and Huey keep having arguments and then returning to the status quo, Kimiko had something very vague about the Shining Path before returning to the status quo, Frenchie felt guilty and turned himself in before returning to the status quo. You could mostly pluck these characters out of season 3 and put them in the season 4 finale and not much would change. I liked Huey's arc with his dad, although I don't like that it brought him to the place of preaching how brave forgiveness is - to a group of people who are trying to stop a fascist coup. Butcher actually did have a good arc, and I enjoyed Homelander a lot more than I did previously. A-Train was actually my surprise favourite character this season, I really liked the direction he went in. He didn't even get that much screentime but managed to redeem himself after being introduced as everything wrong with superheroes.I think since season 1 ended the show has been struggling with having real stakes. The status quo of the Boys would usually return by the end of an episode, and there would only be real consequences in season finales. It really feels stretched tbh
I think its probably good for the show to have "only" 5 seasons. If they nail the landing in the 5th this should become an alltime classic. I agree with your take on A-Train...im happy what they did with him.
Yeah the show should probably have ended in S2. Really feels like they've been treading water for 3 seasons.
