And itβs not necessarily corporate. Lemmy.world has been a target and itβs just a bunch of volunteers.
I get their desire to minimise their exposure to various attack including legal.
Mander.xyz is stem focused and is against nanny-actions.
They let you pick what is acceptable for you.
If you don't like it host your own instance with all the blackjack, hookers, and liability you want; instead of bitching about what toys someone else has in their sandbox.

I'm always astonished by the capacity of people, dating as far back as fucking USENET, to delude themselves into thinking that people are so fascinated by their online movements that they have to announce each and every one of them.
Look for instances hosted in shader countries with more lax laws regarding copyright infringement and user privacy.
