Is it unreasonable to come out of this with a East/West Pakistan solution?

It's deeply regrettable but decades of work by Isreal has really driven a wedge between Gaza and the West Bank.

This part is unrelated to Israel.
The tensions begun the moment Hamas came into power.
When Hamas took over Gaza in 2007, they threw Fatah officials off buildings and shot into crowds of their supporters.

It is related to Isreal as Netanyahu funded Hamas and fought against a unified Palestinian government.

The funding of Hamas by Qatar was after their takeover of Gaza.
