Seems like the chain guide is stuck too close the frame now, when I'm in higher gear it stays on the first gear and moves fine but if I try and shift down I can hear the chain rubbing the chain guide.

Tried fiddling with the adjustment screws but that doesn't seem to be helping.

Idk if anyone has any advice on how to fix.

You might have slipped the cable, if I were you I'd loosen the cable entirely and do whatever the installation procedure is for your derailleur

find the ParkTool Video about front derailleurs and follow that. It's not as intimidating as it looks! It will be difficult without a repair stand so be warned. Good luck!

also, just so you know the adjustment screws are physical limits. they'll change the maximum and minimum distance that the derailleur can go. hope that helps as well
