Welcome ... to Jurassic Peak!

It looks like someone let their cat do the typing for the footer there. Is that a real language at the bottom?

Looks like it is. And yes, apparently they use 7 as a consonant.

[–] problematicPanther@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago (2 children)

evidently, the 7 is a glottal stop. I'm not sure what that means, but I think it means like how a brittish person would pronounce T's without actually making a T sound.

It’s the sound ‘-‘ makes in ‘uh-oh’

Ohhhh it's like a climbing park. Climbers are a different breed lol.

... yea I guess so, according to the blurb at the bottom, they contributed to the provincial park in some ways. It also has pretty nice views as you'd imagine.

Damn BC is gorgeous I didn't realize where you were. I'm used to seeing trail maps like that in Illinois US and it's just a dirt path through some trees and around a man made lake. I gotta drive about 3 hours to get to anywhere with interesting geography - mostly glacial lakes and valleys in the Midwest.

I grew up in Colorado I miss the Rockies, they're truly magical.

But yeah rock climbers love giving crags and routes stupid pun names, it's charming.

It's pretty amazing here, coming from a European country that is known for its nature (and not a huge amount of tourism), and Colorado is definitely on our list of places to visit as it looks beautiful. Only really visited California/Nevada national parks in the past and some smaller places in Washington....and yeah Illinois is nowhere on our list of places to visit, so I can imagine how it must make you feel some days, coming from Colorado
