Ecosia, I can understand. Their point isn't being private or anything, it's planting trees. Bing has better pricing, so they went for them.

Duckduckgo, Startpage, Qwant, and a bunch of other ones though... they talk about having their own indices, own infra and what-not, but yesterday just proved they are a bing proxy. We need a real, decentralised or at least federated alternative. YaCy would be one, but for some reason these bing-proxies didn't want that or decide to work together on an alternative.

I was forced to use Google. I typed 'mc' for minecraft and all of the autocompletes were corpo. Half of them a fast food restaurant. Kinda funny where two letters can lead you.
