"I found a rock that looks like a thing, it must be that thing" is way more common than you would think.

I'm at a complete loss - even with the labels, I can only see a rock. I can't figure out what part is supposed to look like what body part

I can see what they're talking about, but it's the best example of pareidolia I've ever seen.

The Danish electrical outlet purportedly resembles a happy face.

Purportedly!?

The right side kind of looks a tiny bit like a face in profile. But that's pretty much it.

Basically like seeing things in clouds - just weirder.

"I was thinking it was an Indian." 🤦

Casual racist tropes tossed in for good measure.

Honestly, considering how crazy these "archaeologists don't know what they're talking about because this looks like that" people are, there's actually a small but not impossible chance she meant someone from India who came to the U.S. before European conquest.

I mean it's probably just racism, but the kookery goes deep with these people.

They think cotton fossilizes?

They don't think.

Definitely a fossilized modern day stereotype of a 16th or 17th century sailor, how can you all have any doubts about this?

I wonder, how far do you think from Nashville 30 milliliters is?

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

They are more than natural milliliters.
