I was going to say something about the construction predating parking lots, but the Romans had drive-thrus so it wouldn't shock me if they had those too, just not a lot or not specifically here.

I watched the Giro d'Italia (bike race) recently, so yes, I saw some great close ups from the helicopter that follows the race. Never been yet, myself, but it looks amazing from the air!
