I see there are several different ways to install OSRS on Linux - flatpaks, Android emulators, Steam, etc. - but can anyone recommend the best as far as ease of setup? With lack of glitches being the second priority?

I have an AMD GPU that is quite recent (<5 years)

Since they changed to Jagex accounts, you can't use Runelite directly anymore.

I use this launcher now. It lets you login to your Jagex account, then choose to play in either Runelite or the official client.

It would be nice if Jagex would confirm that it is fine to use this laucher. As far as I know we have no more information than this tweet from Mod Ash: https://x.com/kaelygon/status/1763667578315042847 Bolt does work the same as the official launcher, so it should not be a problem…

Jagex's help site links to this github which is a collection of working Linux projects, including bolt.

It's not perfect, but I consider it as Jagex saying it's fine.

It's been a while since I've played either Runescape or OSRS and my accounts were never upgraded to Jagex accounts, if I upgrade one of them to a Jagex account, is it possible to link my other account to that same Jagex account?

Yes, this is exactly what I did when they forced the change a while back.

It's actually kinda nice because it's only one login now and easy to switch between them.

I guess RuneLite as an AppImage?

Kindajust tagging onto this post, but does anyone know how to use the HD plugin that was made for OSRS awhile back? I stopped following it, and don't remember if it had Linux support. Would love to know!

The 117HD? It works fine in Linux if you run Runelite, either via bolt or just the raw appimage

I would say steam

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
