Lol i wasn't expecting that, it will only fuel the fire tho. Unfortunely, the ascend of the far-right is inevitable in Europe.

Im asking myself what this means. Makes me think that the burguesia has decided its time to go with the fascists. This was the tendency, we have been seeing it for some time now, but maybe with the election results they tought it could be an unexpected good moment to make the jump. France had some quite energic popular movements not long ago, cars on fire and everything, maybe thats a factor there too. Its also just more practical if the right just hands things to the far-right, after all. This is something we all should observe closely, and depending on how it develops, i expect other countries (looking at germany mostly, but Spain and Portugal too) to soon follow. And if im not mistaken AFD won something big too. We are entering a new stage in the political game

I don't get why the election, I mean he's polled very badly just now, so what does it gain him?

[–] DankZedong@lemmygrad.ml 24 points 5 months ago

No idea. He sees a massive win for the far right in Europe and decides 'This country needs a quick election right now'
