I'm trying to give up potato chips so I plan on eating more sweet potatoes.

  1. I like sweet potatoes because they are sweeter.

  2. I'm going to do a test test this week. I'm cooking a white sweet potato right now.

  3. I wrap it in aluminum foil and bake for 70m at 400 F. I remove the skin and rice it. I add butter, olive oil and smoked paprika.

I like roasted or in stew

You know I don't think I have ever eaten a yam. Is it similar to sweet potato?

[–] SpiderFarmer@hexbear.net 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, yams are sweeter and more inclined towards those marshmallow laden casseroles. Basically the only difference is how much sugar/syrup you use for some recipes.

I sometimes like making sweet potatoes into succotash, but fries are also solid.

marshmallow laden casseroles

I am constantly flabbergasted that Americans can point at British food and say it is shit when they do stuff like this.

It's so tasty, but true enough. Britain has fish and chips, savory pies, and booze.

I think our dessert game is pretty strong too
