Welcome to Food Crimes! This community is here to collect all and any post about cursed food and generally unusual consumables.

Right now, here’s the rules:

  1. Posts must include an image or video containing food or drink.
  2. It must be unusual or cursed in some way. a. For example, something like Doritos Milk would be unusual, but normal milk would not.
  3. No AI posts whatsoever, and any images that were altered (Ex: Photoshop, Gimp) need to be tagged.

How to tag: To tag your posts, please prepend or append the tag name inside square brackets. For example,[OC] Foo bar baz or foo bar baz [Meta] would be acceptable. Multiple tags will require separate pairs of brackets, like so: [Edited][OC] foo bar baz

Here are the current tags:

Is that AI?

It's not a food crime if it's just theoretical. Somebody needs to make the madness first. And ideally tell us how it tastes

I don't think so. This was an actual recipe posted on Facebook. Unfortunately I lost the link to the original but if you search for that term you'll find many variations on this idea, most of which look even less appetizing.

EDIT: here's a selection:

The submitted photo is definitely AI. Generator went kooky with tiny basil looking leaves.

You might be right. I can swap it for one from the previous comment, which one is your least favorite?

[–] wreel@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The second one is equally cursed. Lol

[–] MacNCheezus 5 points 5 months ago

Looks like we agree on that

Looks much better when the rainbow goes horizontal rather than vertical

Good on OP for updating the pic to remove AI. But I'm curious what the first one was now.

Man fuck AI. That's a completely different picture. Edit: also AI

You know, I ain't mad at this.

Yeah, it's totally unnecessary. Yeah, it's kinda dumb.

But if it makes someone happy, it's all good. Nothing wrong with colorful food until the colorant changes taste. Even then, that's on the person making and eating it.

As with almost everything else posted in this sub, whether or not it’s a crime ultimately up the person eating it. The only real crime is wasting food while others are starving.

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 3 points 5 months ago

Amen to that :)

Taste like anal sex, shitty

[–] banghida@lemm.ee 5 points 5 months ago

That's exactly how I imagine it, yeah.

I will hate crime you. Same vibes as salt bae.

[–] MacNCheezus 3 points 5 months ago

I apologize in advance but you made me do this:

Consider it a commentary on rainbow crapitalism.

Boy...have I got the bread for this recipe!

Actual bread made by Homeboy Bakery in LA about 10 years ago...if you get a chance, get thier cinnamon bread- it's absolutely the best toast I have ever had.
