One developer asked ChatGPT to finish George R.R. Martin's long-stalled book series, A Song of Ice and Fire, upon which the Game of Thrones TV show is based. And the AI did...well, not too bad. But don't expect it to replace Martin anytime soon, either.

I'm not sure using a program designed to find the most likely words and sentences is a great way to finish up a book series known for turning cliches and tropes on their heads.

I skimmed it and there's not nearly enough lengthy and highly detailed descriptions of nipples and food.

Indeed, we'll probably need another six months of research and development before the novel-writing AIs are good enough to replace Martin.

Still way faster than Martin himself will be, of course.
