Germany to order 105 Leopard tanks to equip German brigade in Lithuania
(www.reuters.com)
Same day article as "can't find money to fix 5000 bridges on the autobahn because too much debt"
What is "German brigade in Lithuania"? I understand both are in NATO, but I was under the impression it was Lithuanian army that was part of NATO, not that there are NATO brigades from elsewhere in individual countries (not counting US bases)
Since the Invasion of Crimea, NATO has been placing troops near its boarders with Russia, especially in the Baltics.
Only started recently I think.
