La Paz, June 26 (RHC)-- The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce Catacora, denounced this Wednesday irregular mobilizations of Bolivian military units.

Through social network X, the head of state stated: "We denounce irregular mobilizations of some units of the Bolivian Army. Democracy must be respected!"

Bolivia was the scene of a coup d'état in November 2019. It was organized by the United States and the local right with the complicity of the Organization of American States (OAS).

Can't believe they didn't purge the military after last attempt. "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun" is always relevant.

They were very foolish not to purge the military after the last time. At the very least they should have set up armed people's militias or something to counter and check them if even a little if it wasn't possible to purge the military.

Fact is the US is going to continue trying to coup Bolivia forever, well as long as lithium has value to their plans which is going to be some time. That and the fact they buck the US to do things like try to join BRICS+ and yeah this is incredibly obvious and they really should have done more to secure ideological loyalty of the mid-level officers and troops.

And sooner or later and this may be the time already, it may already be too late, they're not going to care about keeping the mask on, they'll just straight up tell their puppets to massacre anyone giving them serious resistance and then go around jailing, torturing, killing those from the old government as is the usual modus operandi.

MAS has the best opportunity to start something like this. Maybe similar to the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution in Cuba. Storages in each neirghborhood with arms and citizen training.

The coup failed folks!! https://www.elespectador.com/mundo/america/en-vivo-denuncian-intento-de-golpe-de-estado-en-bolivia/

It all ended with Zúñiga retiring with his whereabouts unknown, dismissed and under investigation by the Bolivian Public Prosecutor's Office for the events, which lasted approximately two hours.

🥳

Further proof that Hexbear is the vanguard of world socialist movements o7

In all seriousness though I hope to god this fails. Bolivia is such an important stronghold of the new pink tide and such a vital component of south american socialist construction. Despite its flaws, the MAS governments have done so much to materially improve the life of Bolivians and to lay the material groundwork for a transition to a socialist society.

So far I can't see any support from anyone for the coup, even members of the former coup government don't seem to approve of it. This looks like pure opportunism from military high brass. At least so far, wouldn't put it past the CIA if they were involved.
