Well fuck, I hope we never reach the technology necessary to remove watermarks
This is like telling your grandpa you'll be in your best behavior at their house. And then when you're out of their sight, the shenanigans begins all the same.
I feel like anything companies do are meaningless, expensive gestures. The genie is out of the bottle.
This feel like theatre. We have to do something so lets make the public think that we did. The watermarks will be defeated in no time without addressing the valid concerns around AI.
