General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

He couldn't even name a sandwich filling. He was either caught on the hop trying to think what wsd typical human food or the focus group hadn't bothered workshopping the details.

"I too, like typical human food, such as a BLT: banana, liverwurst, and tapenade. There's a reason it's a classic and that reason is that humans - such as I am - enjoy this combination of flavours between two slices of laverbread."

The fact that this isn't The Onion is just bizarre. I constantly feel like this SMBC comic has to be accurate.

Can't tell at this point if his eating preferences are a bit odd or if he actually eats foie gras and wagu steaks every day, but he knows he can't share that with the electorate.

Wow, my favorite food is conincentally nonspecified sandwiches too! He is so relatable, he's just like regular folks like you or me!

As a staunch soupist, I'm afraid I can't support him.

Also I'm neither conservative nor British.

"Uhhh oh fuck it just write sandwiches"

[–] Cobrachicken@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago (1 children)

"Rishi Sunak met Britain’s most tattooed mum while appearing on the show." what the fucking hell is going on there?

[–] ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk 4 points 2 months ago

Yeah... way to bury the lead. Why in the world would his team agree to put him on at the same time.

He's a big sandwich person insofar as he's stuffed.

[–] Emperor@feddit.uk 10 points 2 months ago

And toasted.

Of course he loves sandwiches, it's the food of the Earls. But why pick that when you live in the country that invented chicken Tikka Masala?

Well Rishi I was on the fence but fuck me you've sold me.

[–] Luvs2Spuj@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago

Wow. He's got my vote!

He's done for

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

Oh, that’s rich.

Huh weird that then he hung out with an extremely tattooed bikini model in that same show. Very awkwardly. In the back of the photo (see pic #2)

What a cuck, 8000 years counting of history, recipes, and tradition in Indian food that is clearly superior to Br***** food, and man picked a white bread sandwich
