But, we can’t possibly afford to give everybody healthcare, right? Some just have to die in poverty. Jesus wanted people to be poor, so that’s actually a good thing!

Another reminder that per capita US healthcare costs the US government more than it costs countries with state healthcare systems, before you even consider the private contributions in the US.
