Day 2 of the mens competition and what a great showcase yesterday was. Loads of offloads, skip passes, individual skills, and team wonder tries on show and a fantastic crowd. Personally a game every 30 minutes is too bloody slow to watch live, and the highlights were slow, but good for du biere if you were in the stadium I'm sure. Actually last time I was in SdF I couldn't buy a beer... Sarkozy!

Anyway, today we venture into knock out territory, so enjoy folks!

Bit of a damp squib that last match, but what about the three before! Spoilt for highlights can't wait for the next round

Any particular reason they don't start Dupont? They looked much more alert once he came on. He definitely plays like a 15s nine though -- you could see it in the lines he ran

Imagine if he went out before the opening ceremony after taking the year off playing for the national team in union

Wow France vs Fiji was intense. Let's hope the Ireland vs NZ game lives up to the hype. There must be some Irish fans with PTSD rn.

NZ vs RSA has been absolutely mental. Who knew those countries were good at rugby?

I might have had an incline. NZ did themselves no favours there though, all mistakes are so costly in sevens.

Ok I'm going to have to go to Melrose sevens sometime in the next year or two. Never sat and watched so much of it but this is such a good advert for the sport.

Melrose is a great day out. Only done it once, then I had kids, but great action all day. I attended Murrayfield when it was on the global circuit too, that was a drunken riot, I keep saying London too. Glasgow commonwealth was fantastic too. But the total skillset needed for sevens is so good, there is no hiding at this level!

Bravo that man!

Ireland so close there. Gave Fiji a scare for sure. They'll be thankful for the rest. Which makes a bit of a mockery of sevens imo, the rest days and three day format. Melrose does it in 1!

France making that look easy. Gold? Anyone brave enough to call it yet?
