Since it's been kind of weekly since 8+ weeks... Maybe start this thread again?

Not a moderator or anything (nor trying to be one), but I liked this community on reddit and would be sad to see it die.

Had a first date yesterday (married and non-monogamous). Went well.

Kinda shit. My 7-year old is being a pain about basic stuff, like going to the fucking bathroom.

Hope it's just one of those "my parents suck" phases that they grow out of quickly...

Oof, I just recovered myself, yesterday was my first day back in the office. Get well soon!

Thank you for this. Would you like to become a mod? Help is always welcome!

[–] viking@infosec.pub 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I generally wouldn't mind, just not too sure how much time I have for active moderating. But then again, I guess the volume of posts is rather underwhelming for the time being, so sure, why not :-)

You are now a mod, feel free to pin this post if you want to!

Excellent, I'll do that now. Thanks a bunch!

The septic hoses on my boat became clogged the last day of vacation, I have dismantled most of the floor and I'm going to replace them all. It's a literal shit show of a job...

[–] viking@infosec.pub 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yeah that does sound fairly unpleasant... Nothing you could try to flush with a pressure hose? Or is there a chance of literal shit bursting out at the seams?

[–] Trashcan@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Well, apparently urine and salt water will eventually create some urine stone that you need to use some sort of acid or heavy vinegar to dissolve. That is not compatible work aluminium tanks. And you should really change the hoses every 10 ish years as they start to smell. It appears to be time for that, so I just have to bite the shitty apple and replace them...

[–] viking@infosec.pub 2 points 3 months ago

Good luck with that... Not going to envy you one bit.

What type of boat have you got?

[–] Trashcan@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

NorStae 290, Norwegian cabin cruiser from 2007

Thank you for this.

If I may, I think this community wasn't that active as people are currently using !casualconversation@lemm.ee as a general conversation community

Let's give it a try, though!

[–] viking@infosec.pub 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Oh yes, I'm active there as well, just thought it would be nice to keep this community afloat as well...

[–] Servais@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 3 months ago

Definitely!

Pretty good. Except the heat wave is really exhausting and some nights it's hard to sleep. A little back pain one day and a day at the beach on another. The usual.

Ok, the warm water was a rare treat. One thing I love about the summer.

Last week of break before I have to head back to work, and we've had a typhoon for most of it. 3 official days off work for everyone. I'm getting right tired of the torrential rain, and keeping balcony drains cleared, but otherwise ok.

37 is in 30 or over 30? Over 0 years old isn't 1 years old. Now I'm having a bit of a "do I know anything" crisis, I think that makes me qualified for this thread.

[–] viking@infosec.pub 3 points 3 months ago

Over 30 includes exactly 30, I'd say? And at 37 I'm sure you know quite something. And an answer to "how's your week going" doesn't really need a long essay to qualify ;-)
